Heating has started!

Today we have satisfied the baseline requirements for the gas well data before the heating is turned on and now we are powering up the heating probes! This marks the start of the year long data collection for the project.

Figure 1: The ramp up of the temperature sensor reading from the heating probe being turned on. The 12:00 to 4:00 on November 22 is the initial ramp up of the heating cable to heat the soil. The oscillations after that are the heating cable turning on and off to regulate the temperature to be 4 degrees Celsius above the ambient sensor reading. The ambient sensors are outside the zone of heating.
