Lyon Deep Soil Warming Project

This study will be part of a larger ten year study on the effects of deep soil warming on the rates of soil respiration and impact on microbial communities in tropical soil. This research question this project will ask is how will the flux of soil respiration be impacted by a 4 degree Celsius warming 2.6m of the soil profile? The other question it will ask is how will this warming affect microbial biodiversity within this same soil profile? These two questions will be explored during a 2 year pilot study at the Lyon Arboretum.
