Sampling in the rain, just sampling in the rain!

Field work isn't always sunshine and rainbows, sometimes its downpours and mosquitoes, like it was for our last collar sampling! Our most recent carbon dioxide gas sampling from the collar network took place last week and the weather was less than spectacular. Take a look at the pictures below to see the downpour that decided to arrive just in time for our sampling to take place. Although these conditions are not idea for working outside it is still important data to collect! Understanding how carbon fluxes change in rain or shine is important to know for the project especially in a tropical ecosystem where rain is part of daily life! Special thanks to Jon, Dan, Hannah and Christine for being such good sports and the dream team of collar sampling! Stay tuned to see how the rainy results come out.

Figure 2: Dan couldn't be happier enjoying the beautiful weather!
